County Check-In
Girls’ Lacrosse 🥍
Centennial’s incredible run has powered them all the way to their first championship appearance. They will take on their toughest opponent yet with an undefeated Manchester Valley team. Their last meeting was a 22-1 Manchester Valley win in 2024.
Marriotts Ridge is one win away from back-to-back championships. The Mustangs are 13-1 in their last 14 games and performing down the stretch is their specialty. Since the start of the 2025 season, Marriotts Ridge is a combined 28-3-1 after the first two games of the season.
The Mustangs will face a red hot Severna Park team in a 2025 championship rematch. The Falcons have an 11 game winning streak, dating back to April 10. However, the last team to beat them was Marriotts Ridge, which won 10-6. The Mustangs would secure their seventh championship with the win.
If Centennial and Marriotts Ridge both win, Howard County will have two lacrosse championships in the same year for the first time since 2005.

Baseball ⚾
The season is over for the county after the first round of states. Only Glenelg won its regional, but the Gladiators’ great season ended with a 6-5 loss to Kent Island. They advanced further than 2025 and finished the season with the county’s best record at 15-6.

Voice dictation that doesn't mangle your syntax.
Most dictation tools choke on technical language. Wispr Flow doesn't. It understands code syntax, framework names, and developer jargon — so you can dictate directly into your IDE and send without fixing.
Use it everywhere: Cursor, VS Code, Warp, Slack, Linear, Notion, your browser. Flow sits at the system level, so there's nothing to install per app. Tap and talk.
Developers use Flow to write documentation 4x faster, give coding agents richer context, and respond to Slack without breaking focus. 89% of messages go out with zero edits. Free on Mac, Windows, and iPhone.
Softball 🥎
Mt. Hebron has played one of the most excellent seasons in county history. The undefeated 17-0 Vikings have kept up their performance in the playoffs, scoring 31 runs and only allowing 3. Abby Magdar has pitched every inning (19) and still has more strikeouts (20) than that workload. The Vikings are set up to go the distance this year in pursuit of the program’s first-ever championship win. The Vikings have not lost a Tuesday game since 2023, with a pitching-first 16-3 Easton team as their next test.

Boys’ Lacrosse 🥍
Glenelg made it further than any county team, going all the way to the second round of the state tournament. The Gladiators fell 14-6 to Kent Island, but their dominance is not defined by that final game. Between their first and last game, the Gladiators won 15 straight games, winning 14 of them by five or more goals.
