HoCo Boys’ Lacrosse Games of the Week

Guilford Park’s Scorching Start

Guilford Park took care of business on Friday in a historic way for the program.

The Panthers faced 1-5 Oakland Mills and recorded their best defensive performance of the young season.

Guilford Park suppressed the Scorpions’ offense to record the lowest goals allowed ever by the team, winning 6-1.

Last season, defense did not aid the Panthers, who allowed at least eight goals in 12 of 13 games. The 2026 team is already on a significantly improved pace.

Opposing teams are averaging 3.5 goals per game, marking a complete turnaround from 11.33 goals allowed on average across the first six games of 2025.

The Panthers have joined their football peers as the only two teams in school history to win their first six games of the season. The football streak lasted 11 games, including the playoffs, providing a goal for this year’s lacrosse team to try to beat.

That work will continue on Tuesday against Hammond, marking the first time each team has faced off since Hammond’s 8-6 win last year.

Glenelg Returns Home

The Gladiators had little time to prepare for the gauntlet of the first few weeks of the season.

Glenelg finished four straight games on the road on Friday, defeating rival Mt. Hebron 12-6.

The Vikings’ defense could not hold off the Gladiators, leading to a season high in goals allowed and the first time Mt. Hebron allowed double digits in a regular season game since April 1, 2025.

Each Glenelg opponent entered their matchup at or above .500. The four teams have combined for a 13-11-1 record, proving Glenelg is handling quality competition inside and outside of the county.

The offense came to life after a 16-6 loss to open the year. Glenelg scored double digit goals in each game of the road trip, peaking at 17 against Annapolis.

Scoring at this level, which reached 58 goals in the four games, had not occurred for Glenelg since the program’s 2024 championship. They scored 65 goals between May 2 and May 15, accomplishing that in one regular season game and one playoff game.

The Gladiators will play five of their next six games at home. Their first is against 0-6 Long Reach, whom they last faced on April 21, 2015.

County Check-In

Boys’ Lacrosse 🥍

Marriotts Ridge is fresh off one of the most dramatic games in the county all season.

The Mustangs lost a nail-biting game on Saturday, 12-11, to Twin Valley.

Tough out-of-county opponents are coming up as soon as 7-1 Fallston on Wednesday, giving Marriotts Ridge an early chance for redemption.
